Ophthalmic Emergencies

TOPIC: Ophthalmic Emergencies

Brief summary or learning objectives:

Learn about various ophthalmic emergencies
Discuss possible differentials for each emergency
Determine which emergencies can be managed by general practitioners vs which ones should be referred
Understand treatment or stabilization plans

SPEAKER BIO: Originally from the Bay Area, Dr Sanskruti Potnis received her undergraduate degree and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from UC Davis. Her interest in veterinary ophthalmology was inspired through her involvement with the UC Davis Comparative Ophthalmology and Vision Sciences Laboratory. After veterinary school, Dr. Potnis went on to complete a small animal medicine and surgery rotating internship at the University of Wisconsin Madison. Missing the beautiful beaches and diverse cuisines, Dr. Potnis was excited to return to California to join our residency program in 2023. In her free time, she loves bicycling, hiking, baking, and spending time with her black longhaired cat Spooky.
